Octagonal teapot by silversmith William Hutton & Sons Ltd 1917.
Great example of an octagonal teapot, tapered in form with eight sides. This unusual shape stands centrally on a single octagonal raised pedestal foot. Octagonal urn form teapot body with domed octagonal lid, central tapered finial in similar form. Black composite handle set in curved ferules. Assayed to teapot body side & inside lid. Side panel is engraved with monogram "B&WG"

Condition

The condition to this teapot is all good, teapot sits flat & level, without dents & deep scratches. Handle is tight in ferrules with teapot lid hinge good, without any play. Assay marks are clear & show little rubbing, monogram is clear & legible.

Splendid period teapot in octagonal form.
