Antique sterling silver salver by Victorian silversmiths Richard Martin and Ebenezer Hall 1885.
This sterling silver salver is of good size measuring 26.5 cm across its diameter. The gauge of silver is good with a heavy gadrooned perimeter, stepped banding leading to the salver top with a raised height of 1.3cm. The silver salver is sat on three ornate feet with feature perimeters and central acanthus leaf detailing. The salver is marked to the underside of the base with a full set of hallmarks marks including, makers mark, passant, leopards head of London assay office, year mark (K) and the duty mark of Queen Victoria.
This lovely silver salver is in good condition for age. There are no solder repairs, major dents or splits. The tray has good tension to the surface, as some are springy from drops to the salver top. There are a few small scratches and nicks to the surface but of little detriment. The tray sits flat and level with good patina. The assay marks are all good with some definition loss to the makes mark, but still legible.
